For firebrick industry development to provide a new very good opportunity

China's metallurgical industry will continue to develop steadily, the growth rate in quantity and scale will slow down, but in improving quality, developing varieties and reducing energy consumption are required to reach a higher level. Therefore, backward and obsolete technology and equipment will gradually be eliminated, and the promotion and application of advanced technology and equipment will be accelerated. For example, in the iron and steel industry, hock furnace and small blast furnace, converter and electric furnace will be eliminated, while continuous casting and furnace refining will be developed and popularized at a faster speed. These situations will provide new good opportunities for the development of firebrick industry, but also put forward new and strict requirements on the quality of firebrick, and will lead to more fierce competition among hundreds of firebrick manufacturers in China.


The all struggle to survive and thrive, and the decisive factors are as follows:

(1) The stability and reliability of product quality;

(2) To produce more efficient products with competitive price;

(3) Capable of developing high-quality new products with better performance and providing good after-sales service.


It can be foreseen that China's firebrick industry will adjust the product structure and increase the output of efficient products. We should speed up the development of efficient bauxite products, further improve their quality and reduce their cost. Competition between firebricks and amorphous materials (including prefabricated ones) will continue in the future. There will be a large increase in the proportion of amorphous materials produced, and efficient castables will take the lead: in this regard, micro-powder process; (Preparation and application) should be a focus of research and development.


Considering the high temperature properties (mechanical properties, thermal shock resistance, erosion resistance and oxidation resistance), oxide and non-oxide composite materials are promising new types of high quality and high efficiency firebricks, which may be developed gradually in the new century. This is an area worth exploring, investing in and developing. For China's firebrick industry, the beginning of the next century will be a period of structural optimization. Firebrick manufacturers will be regrouped and adjusted; Internal structure and management will be reformed; Variety structure will change; The process and equipment will be updated; The adaptability to market economy will be improved. It is expected that China's firebrick industry will catch up with the pace of high-temperature industry development and adapt to the pace of international firebrick market by 2020.
